COMING FEBRUARY 15, 2018  7PM
THE SYMBOLIC LIFE
JUNG MEETUP GROUP

C.J. Jung challenged us to live a symbolic life. To do so we must gain understanding of the essence and mystery of symbols, their importance in our individual and collective lives, and ways to honor and accept the enriching and healing aspects they hold for us.

Last year I became a fan of the television series, The Crown. As I watched the episode of the queen’s coronation, it became clear to me that the ritual and regalia used in the ceremony were not just for the “historical royalty” but can have symbolic meaning for each individual on the journey to become ones true self….to rule our own inner and outer kingdoms.

Join us for an experience with a collection of these symbols so that each of us might expand our ability to live a more symbolic life.

COMING SPRING 2015: THE INNER AND OUTER MARRIAGE

Image from The Red Book by C.G. Jung

From The Red Book by C.G. Jung

A series of talks based on the book, The Invisible Partners, by John A. Sanford about the masculine and feminine dimensions of the soul (the anima/animus in Jung). Sanford shows how the feminine part of a man and the masculine part of a woman are the invisible partners in any male-female relationship. The talk will provide direction in understanding and dealing with projections, which can damage or enhance relationships among people. For those who want to better understand themselves and their relationships.

Time and Place to be announced.

The class described below has concluded, but may be offered again in the future.

Do you dream? Do you remember your dreams? In service of the Soul, I will be facilitating a study group on dreams throughout Biblical history, Science, and Psychology. Using religious texts, scientific research, and the psychology of C.G. Jung, we will explore the landscape and language of dreams.

The late John Sanford, Episcopal Priest and Jungian Analyst, wrote Dreams: God’s Forgotten Language. In 1968 it was one of the first books written for the general public on the subject, including the dream’s spiritual or religious standpoint. In the preface Sanford says:

I was struck by the fact that the Bible also believed in the analysis of dreams. My experience corroborated this viewpoint, because I could see in my dreams a spirit at work that seemed to have a goal in mind that transcended my ego and its meager bit of consciousness.
